Founded in 1861, Luther College is a four-year, liberal arts institution affiliated with the Lutheran church (ELCA). One of the outstanding undergraduate institutions in the Midwest, Luther offers more than 60 majors, minors, and pre-professional programs leading to the bachelor of arts degree. Ninety percent of Luther's 178 faculty members hold an earned doctorate or terminal degree. Over 40 states and nearly 50 countries are represented in the 2,450-member student body; cocurricular activities include 15 music ensembles and 19 intercollegiate sports. The scenic Decorah campus, with well-maintained grounds and buildings, and vistas of the Oneota Valley and the Upper Iowa River, rivals any in the region.

Luther College

In Their Words

Erin
Major: Biology, with a minor in psychology
"I was looking for a small school with numerous activities, a beautiful campus, and a strong biology program. After visiting campus I realized that Luther was the perfect fit. The students and staff treated me like an equal and seemed genuinely excited that I was looking at Luther. After nearly four years, I love living on campus and have built many close friendships that will last long after I leave Luther. It’s a very special place."
