Terra Paialii Major: Business Administration Terra Exemplifies What is best about Attending a Small School with Big Ideas Terra is the perfect example of how a Graceland student can learn and grow utilizing the full resources of our C.H. Sandage School of Business. She has been a steadfast leader (and presenter) on our national champion (2nd in the world) Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team, the working arm of Graceland's Center for the Study of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. You should have seen Terra on stage at the World Cup SIFE Championships in Paris in 2006, with her fellow presenters, representing the 80-strong SIFE team, all Gracelanders, the state of Iowa, and the United States. It was a golden moment in Graceland history. Because of the generosity of the Sandage Charitable Trust, our new school of business was launched in 2008 in honor of the late Charles H. Sandage, (Class of 1923) who went on to a brilliant career as innovator and teacher in the field of business and advertising education. Students in our school of business, like Terra, gain full access to a wide variety of resources - like our world-renowned SIFE team, our annual Entrepreneurial Roundtable, which brings business leaders and recruiters to campus, and myriad other activities that put our business students in contact with internships and future employment. Very few of our business students graduate without a great job already secured. Terra will be working for the Principal Financial Group upon graduation. She did an internship there last summer. Terra, who hails from Independence, MO, is also president of Graceland University's student government. She, and all GU students, enjoy an atmosphere of "inclusivity" and "community" here on the Graceland "hill." We are small enough so that any student can become involved in just about anything they have an interest in. Terra says coming to Graceland was one of the best decisions she has ever made.
